The Influence of Group Art Therapy Program on the Self-esteem and Learning Motivation of School Violent Adolescent Bully

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of the group art therapy on the self esteem and learning motivation of school violence adolescent bullies. The study¡¯s participants were five school violence adolescent bullies in B middle school in A region. They received 10 sessions of group art therapy, twice a week, and each session lasted 60 minutes long. The measuring tools used in this study were Learning Motivation Scale and Self-Esteem Scale for the pre and post tests, and Wilcoxon signed rank test using SPSS 22.0 program was conducted to annalize as well. In addition, the change process in group art therapy session was analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, group art therapy was effective on the improvement of self esteem, especially social self esteem, and positive changes through observation of behaviors by sessions. Secondly, group art therapy was effective on the improvement of learning motivation and positive changes through observation of behaviors by sessions. Therefore, group art therapy was confirmed to be effective in improving positive changes through observation of behaviors by sessions and school violence adolescent bullies' self-esteem and learning motivation. In addition to this, group art therapy program enhanced the voluntary behaviors of clients, the works¡¯ achievement, and the group members¡¯ positive attitude.
